He is also a contributor to Veritas Press's homeschooling curriculum.
It's really shocking that there is still so much white-supremacy present in our society today. Kudos to you for being careful with your words and thinking, and having remorse when you slip up.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00734143376459634885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4082892761099751671.post-1548985744054067032012-02-01T21:18:22.175-06:002012-02-01T21:18:22.175-06:00BIGOT!!!!!!! ;-)
Seriously (and this offends ever...BIGOT!!!!!!! ;-)

Seriously (and this offends every liberal I say it to), we're ALL racist. Why? Because, while racism can have many causes (the historical, slavery-related context being the most notorious, and rightly so), it's also simply a symptom of xenophobia, a fear that enables natural selection to work (or not, as the case may be). When we're in situations we're unfamiliar with, we become uncomfortable, experience missteps, etc, because deep down, we fear our lack of understanding (or, rather, fear that which we may not fully understand).

Was that the case in your situation? No, I think not. And I laud you for saying something. Still, you brought up Archie Bunker, a character in an exceptional well-written television series who once appeared in an episode I highly recommend. In said episode, a young Caucasian male and a young African-American male were robbing the Bunker's house and, at various times during said episode, the young men also labeled Archie ("a bi-got") and 'Meathead' ("a li-ber-al"). Ironically, neither label was all that complementary... As is often the case with labels. ;-)T.R. Nuneshttp://trnunes.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
